  • George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA
  • Glasgow Caledonian University, UK
  • Linton Hall School, Manassas, VA, USA
  • Napier University,  Edinburgh, UK

  • University of Abertay, Dundee, UK

  • University of Lincoln, UK
  • University of Sheffield, UK
  • U3A Durham & Tees Valley, UK

Simon has delivered professional training in a number of skill areas and particularly in the fields of sustainable business planning and forward planning for heritage organisations.  His understanding of how people learn and his experience of a wide range of teaching tools makes every session not only intellectually rewarding but also practically-focussed and, most of all, fun!

Much of Simon’s professional work in recent years has included an element of mentoring, working with client staff at all levels to ensure they have a stronger understanding of the issues they are facing at the time.

Since late 2008 Simon has been working with a number of volunteer-run museums across Yorkshire, helping them prepare Forward Plans to support their submissions for accreditation to the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council (MLA).

He has also worked in a capacity-building role with trustees, Board Members and senior staff at a number of national museums, National Park Authorities and national cultural and heritage bodies.
